IGES founds new subsidiary in Italy: IGES Italy Pharma Consulting

Further growth of the IGES Group - Consulting services for the pharmaceutical markets in Europe

Berlin, January 16, 2025 – The IGES Group has opened another location in Europe. With the founding of IGES Italy Pharma Consulting, the Group also established a presence in Italy at the beginning of the year. IGES Italy Pharma Consulting, based in Milan, is part of the IGES Group and offers strategic and market access consulting services for developers and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals with a focus on the Italian market.

The service network for customers from the life science industry is thus expanding to a total of seven countries in Europe with its own subsidiaries. United as IGES Pharma, the locations of the IGES Group support the market launch and reimbursement of new pharmaceutical developments in Europe.

The head of the IGES Group, Professor Dr Bertram Häussler, comments: ‘With IGES Italy Pharma Consulting, we have specific consulting expertise in the largest pharmaceutical markets in Europe and our own locations in seven countries. This enables us to support clients even more comprehensively with customised services on key European market access issues, from strategy development to the implementation of European launch projects.’

The Managing Director of IGES Italy Pharma is Dr Ilda Theka, who previously held senior positions in market access consulting for international pharmaceutical, medtech and biotech companies at the consulting firm Alira Health. She holds a doctorate in biomedicine and a Master of Business Administration and, in addition to her strong strategic expertise in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, brings years of practical experience in advanced therapies research.

IGES Pharma at BIO Japan 2024
IGES Pharma is taking part in the BIO Japan 2024 convention, the second largest industry event of its kind for the biopharmaceutical sector. The focus is on dialogue with innovative Asian biopharmaceutical companies on market access and reimbursement in Europe.

Expert discussion with IGES: Focus on transatlantic cooperation in the biotech sector
The world's largest biotech congress of its kind, the BIO International Convention, has a strong European focus this year. With the participation of the IGES Group, it brings together major European pharmaceutical and biotech stakeholders to discuss the latest changes in EU legislation and their consequences for the transatlantic pharmaceutical market. The congress will be held in San Diego, California, from 3 to 6 June. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.

IGES Life Science at the health economics conference ISPOR Europe 2023
The IGES Group will once again be present at the European conference of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). The focus will be on the new, centralized HTA procedure, EU-HTA. As part of the scientific program, IGES experts will present current analyses on orphan drugs. ISPOR Europe 2023 will take place from November 12 to 15 in Copenhagen.
