IGES Pharma is taking part in the World EPA 2026 the world leading healthcare evidence, pricing and access congress.
Reimbursement and Pricing of Pharmaceuticals in Europe
IGES Pharma’s brochure “Reimbursement and Pricing of Pharmaceuticals in Europe” has become a highly sought-after source of information and has therefore been newly published for the eighth time. The focus of the new edition is on the harmonized HTA procedure applicable throughout the EU, known as Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA), which came into force in January 2025 and will be gradually introduced until 2030. It already applies to cancer drugs with innovative active ingredients (including orphan cancer drugs) and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), and will then apply to all orphan drugs with innovative active ingredients from January 2028 and finally to all drugs with innovative active ingredients from January 2030.

The ESMO Congress is one of the most important international conferences in the field of oncology. It serves as a platform for the exchange of the latest research results, groundbreaking treatment methods, and innovative technologies in the field of cancer medicine. The ESMO Congress is held annually and will take place for the first time in Berlin from October 17 to 21, 2025, at the Messe Berlin exhibition center.

Independent marketing instead of out-licensing? Panel discussion at Bio Europe Spring
In recent years, the number of pharmaceutical companies that only commercialize a single drug has risen sharply. This is because more and more biotech companies are deciding not to out-license the drug they have developed, but to bring it onto the market themselves. What are the reasons for this increase? Why are biotech start-ups deciding against out-licensing? Is independent commercialization economically successful in the long term? These questions will be the focus of a panel discussion organized by the IGES Group at the BIO-Europe Spring convention on 18 March 2025 at 10.00am. Bio Europe Spring is one of the largest life sciences conventions of its kind in Europe.

IGES Pharma is taking part in the BIO Japan 2024 convention, the second largest industry event of its kind for the biopharmaceutical sector. The focus is on dialogue with innovative Asian biopharmaceutical companies on market access and reimbursement in Europe.

Expert discussion with IGES: Focus on transatlantic cooperation in the biotech sector
The world's largest biotech congress of its kind, the BIO International Convention, has a strong European focus this year. With the participation of the IGES Group, it brings together major European pharmaceutical and biotech stakeholders to discuss the latest changes in EU legislation and their consequences for the transatlantic pharmaceutical market. The congress will be held in San Diego, California, from 3 to 6 June. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.

Pharmaceuticals and medical devices - the countdown runs! January 12, 2025, the era of national product assessments ends and the application of the EU HTA Regulation begins.
IGES Life Science at the health economics conference ISPOR Europe 2023
The IGES Group will once again be present at the European conference of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). The focus will be on the new, centralized HTA procedure, EU-HTA. As part of the scientific program, IGES experts will present current analyses on orphan drugs. ISPOR Europe 2023 will take place from November 12 to 15 in Copenhagen.
EU HTA harmonisation under time pressure: discussion at the biotech congress "BIO Europe 2023"
The time pressure due to EU HTA harmonisation is growing. In less than 15 months, the first medicinal products must undergo a central, EU-wide clinical evaluation procedure. The procedure itself is also taking place under high time pressure - with very tight deadlines and largely parallel to the marketing authorisation. What companies should urgently do now to successfully bring their new developments through the procedure is the topic of an IGES expert event at BIO Europe 2023 on 07 November in Munich.
